Destin was my first graduation shoot of the season and he definitely reminded me of why I love graduation shoots so much! Before our session, Destin took initiative and sent me pictures of different ideas he wanted to recreate for his shoot (I love when clients do this!). I had a clear idea of what he wanted from his shoot and so did he which made our shoot run so smooth and so quickly.

I met Destin when we were both freshmen at UGA and we have been friends since which made doing the shoot that much more fun. His energy was constant and he was extremely open and receptive to my ideas and direction, as was I with his. I feel like when both the model and photographer both feed off of each other’s energy and ideas, it makes for the ideal shoot and makes the process of shooting that much easier.

Since we worked so well together and got all of his ideas out of the way so quickly, we found ourselves with 30 minutes to spare (out of a one-hour session!) so we used this time to get creative and have fun with some awesome pictures in the middle of a busy crosswalk and shot one of my favorite things to shoot: swinging from UGA’s famous chapel bell.

I had been feeling pretty unmotivated with my photography but Destin’s shoot 100% re-energized me and gave me my motivation back to create beautiful images for clients.
